Evapolar is cooling me in THE WORST conditions! I started this amazing cooler 3 hours ago in greenhouse conditions. My greenhouse heats my house and I thought....what an Impossible challenge! I threw open my house windows into the greenhouse and was hit by high temp from a greenhouse in bright hot sun all morning and HUMIDITY!! The humidity was so high that the windows were fogged with running water, the roof of the greenhouse was raining and covered by droplets of water and my glasses fogged immediately! I set up the Evapolar because I was Hot from Mowing and now the house temp (and high humidity) felt unbearable. Set up was fast and easy! I wanted to power it with a power source so I could take it camping....how long can it run?.....AMAZING Relief from the heat! I sat facing the fan only 2 ft or a little less away. I set it on 77% for fan because I wanted to have the minimum setting that felt good. And it FELT GOOD! I cooled faster than my battery for lawn mower recharged, in fact I had to back away a little. The drop in temp showed only 3.7 degree drop...BUT Wow that felt good and refreshed! I finished mowing the yard, closing the windows before I left. Surfaces in the house were dripping, doors, faucets, Felt hot and stuffy and humid when I came in again, but surprising the Evapolar had dropped temp 2 degrees and the difference between room temp and coming out of Evapolar had changed to a 4.2 degree change. Sat in front of the cooler really feeling overheated and Ahhhhhh cooled me down ! The sun came thru the windows but I left them closed the temp diffence went between 3.9 to 4.3 degree drop and that FELT GOOD! What a horrible test to do to a machine....worst conditions! I wanted to know right away if I was going to keep it! Even at a 3.4 change in temp when I first started FELT So GOOD! I was looking for something to take camping that would work in mid west hot humid summers that would bring my temp down quickly and WOW! Iowa is never this humid! I know in the past that the greenhouse goes way over 100 degrees on sunny days. So it was a unfair test but I am Delighted that it worked so well. It is 4 hours and water tank is about 1/4 full (so humid it can't use much water) that power pak is still going strong! My unit is built well of sturdy materials. I do wish temps were in F not C. I have no desire to use Aps etc....simple pleases me. I like the operation bec it is logical and did not require a lot of instruction time. I think that it is slowly cooling this whole room....but that is not what it is Good at. What it is GOOD At is Cooling Me in conditions only a 5000 BTU air conditioner could have and I would have had to sit directly in front of it to cool as much as this little Evapolar did!! If that is what you want....Personal Cooling....this is a Wonder! This machine is whisper quiet which I like too. My house is still hot and humid...I find I want to stay in front of the cooler....so if you want to wander around doing other things this is not for you...but if you want quick relief, or good sleeping it is an amazing little thing! Each person should have their own. Update...theRoom IS cooler and the difference in temp from room to what is coming out the Evapolar is 4.5 to 5 degrees cooler and I have to move back now or feel too cool. I LOVE It!No discounts, gifts, or influences! I make my reviews independently.While this is probably the best of its kind, a small air mover that is meant to somewhat cool the air,It will do it but not by much and if it is not around you it doesn nothing. It is really a personal coolerIt really does cool down the room. And it’s easy to use.Pretty nifty and good looking desktop "swamp cooler". Humidity in the room must be under 50% for it to truly work. Otherwise, it's really awesome. Temp at my desk got so cold, I had to up the temp from 68ºF to 71º !!! So yes, if you are in a dry environment or have a room that is humidity regulated, this unit is amazing. Oh, and this may sound like common sense, just DO NOT try to move this while the unit is in operation. Just set it where you want it to be and leave it be until you're ready to "dry" it (keep the unit running an hour or more after the water runs out) or you'll have to keep a towel nearby. Lastly, the Wifi/Wireless connectivity was a little tricky setting it up, just need a little patience. Once it was all connected, it was the best way to change or turn off the LED RGB light. If I needed to buy a second unit for my office upstairs, I would. But the HVAC there is wonderful.I was browsing around for a personal air cooler and stumbled around this one. Saw the reviews are bad and there are a bit outdated. Decided why the heck not and bought it. It arrived at my house in working condition. Wifi setup was a bit confusing to set up but it managed to work. **You will have to connect to the cooler's wifi its emitting out (ex: EvaSmart).** It was not working at first but **YOU HAVE TO DISABLE AUTO RECONNECT** for the wifi you usually use, else this will not work.After setting it up completely, I filled it up with water that was around room temperature. The water you use should not be too hot or too cold. The sweet spot is about 77F water which takes the temp down 12 degrees. Color change option is available on it as shown in the images (All Hues Available). You can also remotely power on/off the device via the app.NOTE: This thing will not cool a small room. Mine is a 9x9x10 room and it does not move it down at all. It's a personal area cooler and you would have to be at LEAST 1 foot away from it to get the effect, hence why I have it on my desk in front of me. But I'm happy with the result.The back of the cooler uses a USB-C cable for it. It comes with one included!Thanks for reading! :DThis product is not good. It advertises "smart control" through a smart phone app but the app doesn't work with the latest version of Android which has been out for almost 8 months. When I asked customer support about when it will be supported, they had no idea and couldn't give me a time frame. So I couldn't use any of the smart phone features which means you can't do much of anything with it. You can't even change the temp between C°/F° on the machine. All you can do it turn it on and adjust the fan speed.On to how it actually runs. The machine only gets the air about 5° cooler if you're directly in front of the fan. It also burns through water really quickly. I have to refill mine about every 2 hours of use. Also after maybe 2 days of not turning it on, I turned it on again and there was a bad mildew smell coming from the machine. When I asked customer support about the issue, they told me that there's nothing I can do except run it every day for at least an hour or empty the water out and take the air filter out to dry if I'm not going to be using it for a couple of days. This machine is garbage for the price you are paying for it. Get a $20 desk fan and you will be way better off.The product is good and works very well. It takes sometime to start cooling, apprximately 10 mins or so and then the cooling effect starts showing. The temp going down shown in the app as well as on the divice is also very nice. The water tank lasts around 3-4 hours easily and various other features like light is really nice. The seller is very responsive and take care of issues if any.[Edited 2 Times]I want to thoroughly review this product because I couldn't find reliable reviews and so I'm gunna try to explain what this is and what it CAN and CAN'T do.Pros:-works well (as long as your within 1 meter of it)-quiet on lower fan setting (good for sleeping)-quite small and portableCons:-1 pixel died on the display within 3 hours of use-I got an error message -"CART ERR" requires updating firmware through app (at least they fixed it)-I wanted a black one but they only have white :(I live in Canada. Its almost summer here and its hot already! I bought the evaSMART EV-3000 (Evapolar 2) model to help keep me cool while I sleep. This model differs from Evapolar 1 (evaLIGHT EV-1000) because the water resovoir is larger (1300ml vs. 750ml), it can be controlled through WiFi and consumes 12 watts vs. 10 watts (evaLIGHT EV-1000).HOW IT WORKS:To turn it on, first plug in the unit to a computer/laptop/outlet with the included adapter and into the unit with the USB-C connector. Pour water into the resovoir and press the glowing power button. The fan blows air from its closest side, and out through a cool patented filter which looks like super absorbent paper. The tempurature of the water makes a difference - colder water = lower temperature.The unit has 3 buttons on top and a slider on the right that let you control:1 - the airflow in small increments (0-100 increments). Press and hold this button to set a timer as little as 5 minutes to 8 hours.2 - the colour of the LED under the water resovoir (you can select more colours from your evapolar app). Hold this button to select 1 of 7 different playlists for colours. The higher the number, the more colours will be cycled through.3 - the brightness of the LED (0-100 increments). Holding this button puts the LED in sleep mode, turning the LED OFF.Slider UP/DOWN - the direction of airflow vertically (helpful to push the air right towards you)EVAPOLAR CLIAMS ARE LEGIT:On Evapolars' website, they claim that "evaLIGHT humidifies, purifies and chills the air down to 17°C / 63°F". Right now as I type this the unit shows that the ambient temp is 26.3°C / 79.3°F and the cold air being pushed out is 18.2°C / 64.7°F. If you live in a climate like Canada's, you'll like sitting near this portable AC unit during hot/humid days. It helps ALOT. The airflow surface area coverage is about 1m². The air around me smells better because this unit filters out dust as well as make the air smell fresh. You really have to be in the 1m² zone. As soon as I step further away I can't feel the breeze anymore.NO WAY TO LOCALLY UPDATE FIRMWARE:The only way to update the firmware in the unit is to install the app on your smart phone, create an account, set up a WiFi connection and then download the update to your phone and it will install the new firmware for the unit. Remember to turn on location services or GPS on your phone, otherwise you might have problems pairing the phone to the unit.UPDATE FIRMWARE:Please update the firmware of this unit as soon as you get yours, because you will get different kinds of errors indicated by a red light from the LED under the water resovoir. I got an error -> "CART ERR" and the only way I could get the unit to work was to remove the water resovoir, only then will it turn on and work without the water resovoir. The problem stopped as soon as I updated the firmware on the app that you can download onto your phone and control the AC unit through Wi-Fi.FILTERS ARE $$$:Each filter costs $50 CAD on newegg and can last 3-6 months depending on the quality of water. Thats $100 CAD for me every year if I use it at least once for a few hours throughout the year? Thats a steep price for replacement filters down the road - so bear this in mind if you really think about purchasing this one. The app tracks how much time the filter will take to stop working properly, but I have not experienced this yet so I can't say what will happen.YOU NEED TO BE CLOSE TO IT TO ENJOY IT:This will absolutely NOT cool down an entire room, even a small room. My room is roughly 3.5m x 4.5m, and is the smallest room in my home. It does what Evapolar says it does but not much else...and for the price? You have to be physically uncomfortablefor this portable AC unit to be meaningful to you. I like feeling the cold breeze even if I step away and its humid and hot as hell. Put it right in front of you or 1 meter away and you'll feel cool and breathe nice clean air. Horizontally it will not reach far out, but vertically the airflow can be adjusted is helpful for elevation differences.CABLE LENGTH AND POWERING THE UNIT:I plugged it into my USB hub and it wouldn't work properly. Plugged it right into the motherboard USB and it works just fine. Plugged it into the outlet and as long as you use the cable it came with and do not extend the cable, it will work perfectly. I tried to use a USB 2.0 extender 3m (10ft) cable and it didn't like that. Please include a longer cable or extension cable next time Evapolar.CONCLUSION:I went out on a whim and spent alot of money on a small AC unit just to help me feel more comfortable...and I'm happy with this thing. I don't wanna give it back, but I want different capabilities for future models. Make them flat and large, so it can look non-intrusive and have a greater surface area for cooling. This evaporative technology has been around for a while, but these Evapolar units are really amazing when you consider how convenient it is to move around. Be careful when you move it with the resovoir more than half full, because it will drip from the sides on the bottom if you move it alot.I bought it this summer to freshen up my room, it's the most useless air conditioner I've ever seen. It's blowing off air, but not super cold air and not far away. You could use it for personal space, but you absolutely can't use it during the night; the reservoir for water needs to be filled up every 3 hours and when it's not filled, it fills the room with humidity. Horrible, I had to return it and it took almost 5 weeks to have the money back and send it back. Super complicated, since I had to pay for shipping back and forth, but then Amazon had to issue refund request for the seller to pay for the shipping... Not worth the money, not worth the hassle, but amazing job from Amazon's customer service.Two of them are running next to my laptop.I feel like in a real air conditioned room. However, if you buy only one of them, it's not going to be powerful enough. Perdre une journée non pas du tout.Bien à vous M.MercierLa livraison a été irréprochable et plus tôt que prévue mais l'appareil ne fonctionne pas adéquatement, il ne produit pas d'air frais et fonctionne seulement comme ventilateur. L'eau ne s'évapore pas du tout du réservoir et l'appareil arrête de lui même à tout moment. De plus, l'application mobile ne fonctionne pas. Très décevant. La procédure de retour est très facile, merci pour ça !
