Volant 35060 High-Performance Air Scoop for Dodge Ram - Cold Air Intake System for Improved Engine Power & Fuel Efficiency - Perfect for Off-Roading & Towing

I have this scoop installed with a Volant cold air intake (P/N 151536) on my '04 Suburban 2500 w/ 6.0L engine (NOT a Dodge Ram like the item title/description says). Very good quality, not cheap thin plastic like you might think it would be. The mouth is bigger than I expected, which is good because more air is being picked up and directed into the filter box. That means the engine isn't having to work as hard to draw air in. The usual roar from the cold air intake is less noticeable, but you can definitely still hear it when you step on the gas. At cruise the engine is just as quiet, if not quieter than stock. I believe this is because the air is at a slightly higher pressure in the filter box, just waiting for the throttle to be opened up and let the air rush in. This is as close to forced induction as you can get without an actual forced induction system. It hangs below the font bumper/air dam, so I definitely recommend getting the pre-filter. If you do a lot of off-road driving or your truck is low in the front, this might not be an ideal option for you. I had to make a short bracket to mount the lower section, the included hardware did not match up to anywhere on my truck. That said, it only took me a few minutes to cut and bend a piece of flat stock to work. All in all, completely satisfied and I would recommend it.
