This replaced the filter/suppressor that came with my $1,200 pond aerator pump. The original filter listed for $68 to $125 for the same model number. Shocking! This replacement has a pleated filter that provides better dust filtration (the pump is mounted in a cabinet near a dirt road that generates a lot of dust) and the pond is ringed with cottonwood trees that generates airborne seeds every year. I plan to purchase replacement filter inserts to keep this unit in full working order every year and minimize wear & damage to aeration pump.Can't really comment on sound suppression feature, as the pump is enclosed in a cabinet for weather protection and is located about 2 blocks from my house.
