I've lived in the old 8006 boots from Ridge for well over a decade and they've been the best boots I've ever owned. Even after they were discontinued I would search out suppliers with old stock when I needed a new pair. Eventually, though, they became basically impossible to find in my size and I was forced to try something else. These boots are a reasonable replacement. Very similar construction and once broken in very comfortable. (they tend to be somewhat stiff and maybe even a little pinchy at first, but they soften up very nicely before long)The main issues I have with them are:1, The longer curved zipper, while making it a little easier to slide a foot in and out, is also a little more awkward to operate than the straight version. I find that now I have to hold the two sides toward each other with a second hand and use a little more prudence while closing where I used to be able to just one-hand grab and yank it up.2, The steel toe isn't fitted to the contours as well as the old 8006ST so the edge of the steel toe creates a minor visible line across the outside of the boot. As a slight protrusion, it also tends to be where scuffs catch the most and since I tend to be hard on boots there's already some surface leather scraped off along that line.Overall, if you're looking for a solid, comfortable boot with good traction I'd recommend it. However, if they ever start making the 8006 model again I'm still switching back.very comfy and softI wear these to work, and while running errands after work, I am frequently in these boots 16 hours a day six days a week. These are the lightest in weight and they have been the most durable boots I have had in ages. When I finally wear down the treads I will definitely be purchasing these again.I have been wearing these boots for six months nonstop and they are still just as comfortable (maybe more comfortable) then when I got them.A very adequate boot... I'd suggest offering an all leather upper option with slightly shorter height for everyday use. Not the most comfortable the first day, but didn't actually hurt... after that they were fine. In my opinion they are overpriced, but if they hold up that's okay too. I'll give an update in a few months. Bottom line... you could do a lot worse!Boots are great. I wish the toes would have held up a little better, but being in EMS, these boots go through a lot. Color is s great, material holds up great, zipper works flawlessly. Size is accurate.They are comfortable, but the boot runs a little wide. I take medium width and they are wide on my foot. Must wear a thick boot sock.So far these are the best pair of boots I have used. I have used all the name brands and so far these boots are the only ones that are holding up very well. I will definitely buy them again.Awesome! These are my go-to work boots. They are steel toe and look great (tactical style) ZIPPER IS A TIME SAVER! They will hurt for the first couple weeks while you break them in.
