This is an attractive appliance. It fit very nicely in my kitchen, an I would rather have kept it. But I returned it. The dials are impossible to read. The numbers are too small, and there's almost no contrast in color between the numbers themselves and the surface they are printed on. It's interesting that the box this fryer comes packaged in shows numbers that are extremely readable, and this is very misleading. The timer is mechanical (not digital) and this is fine, except that if you overshoot your target time and wish to back it off a bit, good luck. It's crazy hard. You'll need a pliers. When time runs out and the unit shuts off, you won't hear a bell. If anything, you'll hear a faint 'doink', that is if you happen to be standing close by. I never the fryer to a actually cook food. The flaws I've mentioned made me decide to return it without firing it up. And that was a good thing. I had to fill out an on-line return form that required a 'return authorization number', even though no such number was provided. So I called the shipper in New Jersey, and after some back and forth, they provided the number. But the message was, if the unit had actually been used to cook food, it would not have been returnable. I had to pay >$7 shipping. This unit cost more than $80, which is way too much. I can purchase a similar fryer from my local hardware store for less than $40. So it's a case of Buyer Beware. I hope I've saved you the $7 in return shipping. This is a quality product. There’s nothing I disliked about it. It just doesn’t match the other turquoise appliances that I have. Turquoise is very hard to match in unless they are all the same brand. It was very loud. Did not heat up.I really like the color. That part was awesome
