Bought for an air compressor re power. Unit arrived poorly packed and damaged. Waiting on seller to see if parts are available or if they will need to replace engine. I will update this when they decide how to help me. Fixed it up with spare parts from other engines on hand for now and got it mounted. Since unit comes with pulley and not output shaft, you are stuck with the size of that pulley and cannot match the engine to the load or speed you need. This unit is 70 pounds and only makes about 3 hp. Unit had to be fully disassembled to get broken fasteners, chunks of metal and old oil out and replaced with better stuff. Unit starts easy enough but it is the loudest engine I have ever heard. It knocks and sounds like it will fly apart. The vibrations are so severe that the fuel cap cannot seal the fuel that is sloshing around in the tank. Due to the pulley being big, I cannot get this to run my air compressor without lugging badly and belching black smoke. If you need two to three hp and don’t mind your head exploding from sound, this may be for you. I am going to try a yanmar clone now for this project. If you love diesel’s like I do, even though this is mostly a useless engine, it is still cool to mess with!I noticed gunk around the threads of the dip stick so I decided to remove the cover and take a look. Apparently the factory uses old oil to test these engines out and doesn't clean or filter it. I found shavings and debris in the oil pan! Mind you this is a "new" engine. The close up of the paper towel shows the color of the oil and the flakes of metal. I rinsed everything with brake cleaner into a bucket and you can see how much crap there was inside this new engine. Absolutely unacceptable!---That being said it seems like a nice engine for the price. I was surprised to see ball bearings for the main shaft on the side cover.I ran the first tank with fresh ATF for fuel through it to make sure the injector and plunger were well lubricated. Ran just fine like It should for being an old school mechanical injected diesel.Filled it up with diesel and mounted to my air compressor. I ran it hard for about an hour and was surprised to see the fuel level practically the same as full. This thing is efficient!So far it's looking to be a great little diesel engine.Both recoil and blower housings arrived bashed-in and not in useable condition. Disassembly and some time with a hammer straightened everything back out but it was not a simple task. Also, instructions completely in Chinese, but Google Translate helps a lot! Once repaired, it runs great!Nice little motor for a pump or compressor. Good build quality. Decompression leaver makes it pretty easy to start at least in the warm months.So I removed the starter rewind that was damaged in shipping and found the construction of the rewind to be total garbage. I straightened out the fan shroud and remounted the rewind. I really need to replace these parts, as the repair is mickey mouse at best. . . Please send some information on buying parts for this engine. . .The owners manual is not in english, i have not been able to find a translation. does anyone know where i can download it in english ?Muy mal producto fue un desperdicio de dinero una porquería no lo recomiendoBroken block.
