Love the retro Turquoise (aqua) color, size, and multi-use features. I'm not over-using this, so it's been fine. ALSO, the crumb tray goes "under" the heating rods on the bottom (someone else on here mentioned they were setting it on top of the rods?) Lol. No. - The toaster option toasted my bagel well. Heating option is fast. It does get hot. Use tin foil for way easier clean up. Obviously the trays aren't some top of the line metal, so definitely hand wash those pieces. Heat from a dishwasher would probably discolor the metals like other reviews have mentioned. Another vendor that sold this had many reviews on this that mentioned electric/malfunction fires, so don't leave this unattended when using.Also, don't use a strong cleaner on this such as 'oven cleaner'. Use mild or natural soap and a damp cloth if you have to wipe it down. People keep mentioning the numbers coming off. Chemicals will do that such as 'oven cleaner'.When I bought this, it had a coupon to select. It came packaged well, and was easy to unpack. Ready to use out of the box.
