These are the first and only pair of gloves I've ever used for English riding lessons. They are an absolute dream! I noticed I needed gloves when reins would slip through my hands because I couldn't maintain sufficient friction just with my bare hands. (I have the baby-soft hands of a sedentary office worker: my hands lack friction for opening jars, so I need all the help I can get - especially if my horse decides he'd like to interrupt our lesson to munch on some grass and I have to pull him away lol.) These gloves make a world of a difference - my grip is solid, stable, and I never lose my reins. I live in South Florida, and although I take lessons in the late evening, the gloves never feel hot or uncomfortable. They are good looking and they appear to be of high quality material. The size is perfect (I used the measuring guidelines on the product's website). They haven't developed any odor after several uses (once a week for over a month). I felt confident in my control and communication via the reins before I had these gloves, but I still would always wear these when possible. They are a great buy.Update: don't use any type of cleaning or condition products on these - my first pair lasted maybe over a year or almost two of use 1-2 times per week, until I stupidly sprayed them with some organic gym spray and used leather conditioning wipes to clean them. Something in those compounds caused holes in my otherwise durable gloves. I got a new pair recently and plan to just wipe them off with a damp towel for cleaning.I got these gloves for skydiving in cold weather. There is simply no room for hands and fingers not to function as needed. I'm too new to the sport to deal with extra challenges like bad/slippery gloves or numb fingers. I needed my fingers to be protected but I still had to have function, feel, and grip to grab and pull the ripcord. Voila! Obviously the gloves did their job since I'm here to write about it. So let's get on with the less obvious, shall we?The gloves are comfortable and fit very well. They have a perfect amount of stretch in all the right places. I can wear them alone or with glove liners and they still fit great and function beautifully either way. The adjustable closing strap really holds once adjusted to comfort. They look fantastic! I find myself wanting to wear them out as if they are my everyday gloves. The design is really cool looking, they certainly look like they mean business. They really do let me use my hands and fingers to grab and hold things, even tie my shoes and adjust belts, clips, straps, etc so I don't feel like I have to take them off and be barehanded every time I need dexterity.I love the fit and feel of these gloves, but I tend to rub my horses head with my right hand. I felt the end of the middle finger on the right glove developed a hole rather quickly for the money. The hole is actually in the leather, not in a seam. The gloves are really nice for the price so far they have held up pretty good. I would say though in consideration this is not a daily ride glove I do not think it could withstand the use.use these these gloves for all 3 aspects of eventing . Fit like a second skin, grip well. Thick enough to protect from chafing yet tactile enough to provide good feel.Works very well, my daughter has been using them daily all summer in hot steamy Arkansas. However, I wonder if her hands are permanently stained black from bleeding of the dyes from the gloves. However, they have held up to 3-4 horses a day, 4-6 days a week. Her hands are well protected.I love this glove for the money. They are tacky and wonderful. They are also really supple and flexible. Through my own stupidity I ripped one of the gloves right out of the gate - so I have had the pleasure of using these for schooling instead of having to save them for show. Clean right up by simply wearing them and handling your buffing rag that you use to clean your saddle. Lovely gloves and true to fit - I have very small hands and often find that some are sized a bit too generous and are dangling from the end of my fingertips. Really nice overall.I love these gloves. The only glove that doesn't hinder my hand movement and white doesn't bleed color. I wear these for everything; riding, barn chores, etc. clips and tiny throat latches are no problem. Not the most practical or warm, but after buying a dozen other gloves that weren't as good I find it worth the money.Dont know much about riding gloves but these work well for my needs!
