I expected this to hold up longer than that.Love this fryer!It took me awhile to figure out you have to use the timer to get this to work. Also you have to push down while turning the timer. I get so frustrated because nothing comes with instructions anymore and I really didn't want to have to return this, so I figured it out.Also a lot of the numbers faded after only a couple of uses.I will keep this since I live alone and I won't be using it very often. But I would not recommend it otherwise.I like my air fryer however, I do like deep fry once and a while. However, I don't have the space and I needed something small that I can put in a cabinet and not run out of space doing that. I picked this one up, for size, however, I also picked it up because of the 1700 watt element. This has enough heat to flash fry cold fries, and fry up perfectly, without heat loss, just awesome. I do like how it has the vent in the lid, where it keeps the oil from being airborne and still fries the food, perfectly safe from hot oil splashes. And I do love how it comes apart, where everything is dish washer safe, except for the element, of course. Which doesn't need cleaning often anyway, a wipe down will suffice. I do like that for 1700 watts, it has a good solid high gauge power cord, where that makes a difference too; and safe. I also like the larger fry bin, where it holds a good number of fries, chicken nuggets and even onion rings. Another quality perk, is that the stainless steel stays untarnished, and a quick wipe and its like new again; a sign of quality stainless steel. No cons, love crispy fresh cut fries, where I am very happy with the purchase.The lettering on the machine has worn off and I have to remember the settingsNice product
