I’ve found the Pelican 1535Air TP case to be EXACTY what I was looking for. When it arrived, I spent approximately 40 minutes laying out three various designs on paper, until I had one that ensured I had maximized the cases space for my camera and peripherals that ABSOLUTELY NEED to travel with me. However, after becoming a bit despondent over the fact that I would not have quite enough space for my eighth lens, I postulated that I could live without that Rokinon 14mm f/1.8 in lieu of the HD PENTAX-D FA f/2.8 15-30mm ED SDM WR. If the 15-30mm f/2.8 is being substituted for the 14mm f/1.8 when used for astrophotography, I’ll simply need a longer exposure which won’t pose any issues with the Pentax K-1 in Astro-Tracer mode. Plus, I’ll stop down to f/4 just to be sure those corners are also a bit sharper. I also opted to purchase one Pelican #1506TSA PeliLock, and newer CVPKG inside lid netting storage holder, which seems to have a bit heavier gauge nylon netting, more robust zippers, and solid ‘backing board’ than Pelican’s original lid netting storage system. The CVPKG lid organizer comes with four screws for attachment to the 1535Air TP’s lid, whose female thread screw posts are part of the same polymer as the lid, and extruded about 3/8” – 1/2” from the inside top of the lid for the ‘backing board’ of the lid organizer to sit against while you line-up the elongated holes in the board with the polymer female thread screw posts & put the metal screws into place. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN. This CVPKG lid organizer also fits the 1510 and the OLDER 1535 cases. BOTH of these will require VELCRO FASTENERS. Place your order that way. Now, this is an exceptional travel/working case with only a couple of very small issues that did not require a whole star reduction IMHO. One of them is that this case seems to be in a constant triboelectric state, and therefore attracts any & all tiny lint/dust particles floating around near it when you’re putting in/taking out your gear; the arch-enemy of camera equipment. The other is that the small diameter wheels don’t roll very well on plush carpeting. But, as I already stated, these small issues are not enough of a detriment to reduce my Five Star rating.Items I fit into My Pelican 1535Air TP Case:PENTAX K-1 Body, PENTAX K-3 Prestige Edition, D-BG6 Battery Grip, D-BG5 Battery Grip, HD PENTAX-D HD 24-70mm f/2.8 ED SDM WR Lens, HD PENTAX-D HD 15-30mm f/2.8 ED SDM WR Lens, HD PENTAX-D HD 28-105mm f/3.5 - f/5.6 ED SDM WR Lens, PENTAX FA 77mm f/1.8 Limited Edition Lens, TAMRON 70-200mm f/2.8 Di LD [IF] Macro AF Zoom Lens for Pentax, Pentax SMC-M 135mm f/2.5 Lens, Pentax-A SMC 28mm f/2.8 Lens.Benro FH100M2BHF 100 x 100mm Master Filter Holder System with four Hard grad (GND) Schott B270 optical glass 100 x 150mm filters in filter frames - HD8 (3 stops), HD4 (2 stops), HD3 (1.5 stops), and HD2 (1 stop). Total Weight 36lbs. (16.33kg)Few products are so time tested that they are nearly flawless. Pelican has been doing this for decades and this case is nice. I'd rate this 4.5 stars. Minor refinements could make it perfect. Expensive, but you get a case with lifetime warranty. The case is the typical waterproof, dust proof, floating, crush proof, etc. tank that Pelican is known for but a good bit lighter than previous versions. The main feature that makes this case worth it compared to competition like the Nanuk 935 is the light weight. 3 pounds is a big savings to start with in my book, at least for a carry on sized case when there is a weight limit on most airlines. The TrekPak inserts are quite pricey, but you get 10-20% of your case volume back with the provided set, and they look amazing if you are obsessed with cleanliness and organization in your cases like I am. With smart cutting, you will be able to reconfigure for multiple load outs similar to foam dividers. For cameras and lenses as is my main use, storing bodies and lenses vertically keeps items from moving and saves space. Even large DSLR bodies and medium lenses will fit this way. I see so many terrible layouts that are wastes of space that let gear bounce around by laying things down. What could be improved? These are mostly nitpicks, this case is meant to be light as possible hardened tank for gear storage.1) Latches are very loud. If I could change anything, this would be my first pick to change. They are so loud they will draw attention, and they require lots of force to operate. These should be improved after all these years!2) Obnoxious branding. I removed the branded stickers. These are for over proud people who want to be a theft target when traveling. I think Pelican should dial these down, we know the brand already. Could not remove the stupid red "Genuine Pelican Case" on the valve. Might cover it up or paint it after checking with to ensure it will not alter my warranty. I just want a black hard case that draws as little attention as possible.3) Wheels are basic, not good for much but hard floors or low carpet. Meh.4) Injection molding leaves a slight bulge on the lid. Wish they had a process that eliminated this. It is not very noticeable but still.5) I'm sure over time very slight improvements to weight and handles will be achieved but they are pretty solid.6) Hopefully materials, perhaps carbon reinforcing, could make this even stronger. The lid will compress slightly if you stand on it, but never in normal stacking. I doubt this will damage gear unless you pack too tightly regardless of how ridiculous it is.If competitors come out with a lighter case, the competition will be on again. The latches annoy me, but everything else is very close to as good as I can imagine.ive been looking for a carry-on for my photography equipment and this works perfectly.Good carry on.Pelican cases are great and will last you forever.I bought two of these Pelican boxes because they’re indestructible and guaranteed by the company to replace them if they break.I bought silver for my husband, because it was cheaper than black, but they sent black so they must’ve sold out on silver. Black made my husband happy, so that’s fine with me. I bought the orange one because I need to see my luggage and know it’s mine when it comes down the luggage belt. I hate orange as a color, but I can see it.The only precaution I have is because it’s a specialty box, luggage handlers think it’s video or photography equipment and in Miami, they delivered our luggage with other special items, like baby car seats. Once we realized they were over there, we were able to continue on to our hotel. We were confused at first as to why our luggage wasn’t coming out with everyone else’s from our flight. Then we saw it on the side. Just wanted folks to be aware it may cause luggage handlers to put it with the special luggage. The biggest reason I chose this size is because it truly is a domestic carry-on. It’s not a spinner, so the wheels are compacted into the design. It’s a sweet piece of luggage. We’ll probably get some larger pieces in the future. MI único comentario es meramente de apreciación y es que pienso que el mango de extensión se ve frágil, pero solo el tiempo y el uso confirmarán si mi apreciación es correcta o no.provides excellent protection for my gear and the trek pack inserts work extremely well once you have them configured for the gear you want to transport. I have a full frame camera, 24 -70,70 - 200, 14 -24 lenses, two full size speed lights, batteries, triggers and A few other item tucked into this carry on case. You will have peace of mind when transporting your expensive gear in this case. Tengo 3 y seguiré conorabdo conforme mi equipo crezca!
