Functional and gorgeous. This is a wonderful way to stop even fairly small debris from falling into your AC (we have a bush right over the unit, and the size of the mesh is perfect for stopping the little leaves and "pollen pods" from dropping in, without impeding air flow). Even though our 3-ton unit is grey, the black cover looks much better than a grey cover — this black does a great job of making the AC look nice and it finally looks "expensive."Definitely worth the price (where else can you get a quality "24/7 all-year any-season" cover, especially with Prime shipping?)...It's like getting a cosmetic upgrade for your unit, especially because the dark screen conceals any potential or existing spots or surface dirt.If you can, try and shoot for the same size as your unit, because placing it in a "diamond shape" doesn't afford as polished a look as covering the unit along the edges in a square shape does.**Note: I noticed that the bungee cords differ in length by about 1/4 of an inch or so. This is actually useful, however, because you can pick/adjust them in such a way that the tension is even or where you want it. Also, this helps when you use only use 3 instead of all 4 bungee cords (leaving 1 corner - where there are no fins to hook into - without a cord). I think this is better than anchoring 1 cord *under* the small tab/section that juts out in corners of units (see photo #5) like the Carrier model we have.There's actually no need to have all 4 cords secured (some even use just 2); it won't "fly off" (because of the *surprisingly durable* materials of the screen and cover) and this will prevent any unnecessary tension..plus, it looks better :)It's up to you, though, when you set it up, which is a very quick and easy 1-person 2-5 min process!Summary: If debating which brand of year-round AC cover to buy on Amazon, I highly recommend you go with this one:•Materials stronger/sturdier than expected, should serve a long time•Immediate eye-catching/-pleasing cosmetic improvement to your AC unit (make sure you get black)•Easy to put on and adjust to individual models (and the bungee cords slightly differing (by 1/4") in my case helped in this regard)•Does not impede airflow•Effective screen hole size (see photo #2)•there was no deformation in the screen (aside from the 3 creases it had from being folded for shipping, which are barely noticeable right from installation [see photos—taken less than a day after installation] and will probably soon disappear altogether).•Fair price/good deal
